Week 15 Day 1 (Tuesday)

We review how to answer the description questions for the upcoming exam we are going to have.

1. Mr. Rick came in the class, but he isn't that late. But we all force him to pay, so the others that came the same time as Mr. Rick has to pay. Now, there is only a few minutes left in the video, so we watch it for a while.

Here is the video...

Okay, now the video is done, and Mr. Rick gave us another activity to do. We have practice writing answers for a description question. The "Professional Photographer" was going to photo Mr. Rick saying that, but Mr. Rick made a pose instead...

2. So here is how to make a Cambridge description question. To make it, you need to see how many marks it is. Example, the question is 4 marks. You then times it by two and subtract two from the answer. So it is  4 X 2= 8 and then 8 - 2= 6. The answer is how long it should take you to do the question!

Read the question carefully. Then make a quick mind map on the paper that takes about 30 seconds. Give the ideas that are the answers to the question. After that, choose two that are the best, and give two lines through your mind map. It will mean that it is not part of your answer. And now you are ready to write your descriptor!

You must give an opening. Repeat the question, and then answer with one of the points is. Then make the argument. And finally, by using your research, you write the source, a book or a saying by someone, to support your argument. After that, you do it again with the second point.

You're done, you must give the conclusion in the end. It must be the writer's work of understanding, not the argument or the sources. If you're done, you have a nice framed work of a descriptor.

You must also manage your time. 6 minutes, so you must do it quick.

Here is a blurry example...

So Mr. Rick asks us to do our own descriptors by making a quiz... After explaining a little, it is time to get out of the class

3. What we can improve is manage our time wisely. When doing the tests, we don't spend much time thinking too long, we must write so we can do our exam quickly. And we must study for the exam next week....
