Week 19 Day 1

Today Mr Rick is late again ... As usual. At History Class, we watch a few commercial videos, starring Mr Rick's own son !! At one of the commercials, we could hear Mr Rick's Voice talking with his son. Some of them are funny .... Lucas, Mr Rick's son played in a candy-flavored milk and in a new batik store with an other kid ...

After we watched the commercials, we sing Henry the 8th together. After we finished singing we have tech-time which we could do anything with our laptops, but not playing games except Battlefield Academy. Battlefield academy is a strategic game, which is about war in the past.

Week 18 Day 2

Today in History we took our 2nd part of the final exam. We did not take any pictures of the test because we did not want  anyone who haven't done the test to see any of the exam questions and sneakily search for the answer for the questions. Like what we would expect from a history exam, everyone thinks that the test is pretty hard. Our group seemed to have handled the test pretty well although we refused to share our scores to each other. I don't know whether it's just bad scores or we just want to keep our personal lives to ourselves.

Last Post! No more post! Sorry for the excitement on the last post :)

Week 18 Day 1

A little bit of a twist of today's lesson! And it is also a good time to end the blog, so no more posts on the blog. (Sorry for those of you who like the blog, it has been really fun!)

1. Upon accumulating the infractions money, we have just enough for the Pizza Party! Everyone is crowding the pizzas, even before the class starts. There were 4 boxes of cheese pizzas. Yum!

Mr. Rick now came in class. Now the pizzas are being given out...

Okay, since it is a pizza party, doesn't mean we don't have a lesson, we still have one lesson to go, and tomorrow is our History Test part 2, on a computer! While we eat pizzas, we listen to Mr. Rick.

2. Mr. Rick also eats the pizza...

Mr. Rick discusses the blog. Yes, okay. This blog is updated daily on History lessons and is almost free of problems. But Mr. Rick wants to discuss this again, because some of the people are not doing the blog daily.

While Mr. Rick talks, students carefully divide the last two pieces of pizza among each other... (Forgive the bad picture to the left)

Mr. Rick says to us that this blog is an important portfolio, and it must be done daily and not rush it until the end. Not like our semester before where we rush the portfolio because we did it on paper. Submit it within 24 hours of the class, the latest would be the next day after the class.

Then, there must be sections 3, 4, and 5 written on the blog. If you don't know what those are, section 3 is individual work (like the LdL teaching), section 4 is team work (like team presentations and projects) and section 5 is the evaluation of the class, what you learned. And there also must be the topics written in the blog daily, and it has been provided on one of the tabs on top of the blog.

Mr. Rick scans through the blog, and has to check very many blogs across the different grades. So if you did rush the blog, Mr. Rick would not have been able to read everything, and probably might have a bad score. Oh and, if you have to rush the blog, you need to catch up with 5 months of history work. (So, good luck with that.)

The blog is due within this week, so this would be the last post!

3. Now, Mr. Rick asks us to study for the upcoming test. By now most people had finish eating their 2 slices of pizza. We need to continue revising the materials for exam. (The questions are put on the blog, labelled review materials for exam, so you can just download it without going on Schoology.)

Mr. Rick asks us the condition of the blog. Well, it is updated daily, and...

Okay, there is one problem. All this time, there are 4 blog authors, but only ONE did all the work. Mr. Rick seems quite upset about that, so the rest had to edit the blog. (So if there are bad edits, probably it is them, but maybe not.)

Now... The class is done! Hooray! The blog will be submitted! A celebration with Pooh Bear!

4. What we can improve is... Well... Everyone needs to be responsible to help each person of the team do a certain work. If only one does everything while the others don't do anything, it wouldn't improve at all. People who don't work would get low grades. If everyone did work, then everyone would get good scores, and no one would fail.

Now, the last one picture... BYE! :D

Week 17 Day 2

I should stop saying "Mr. Rick is late today" because he is always late. So now, we move on.

1. When Mr. Rick came in class...

He asked us if we're done with the assignment he gave us. Unfortunately, as the blog was written yesterday, the Internet connection has problems and we were all unable to work on the assignment. So now... we have to do the assignment today.

We need to download a document from Schoology. The document contains materials needed for our semester exam, and it has a picture of Napoleon riding a motorbike... (Trust me, that editing for the motorbike, ain't easy)

Then, as a group, we need to make one google drive document and answer all the questions that are in there. We must divide the work equally, and this is going to be used as a team review for the semester exam. (Of course, its a hard revision, i would get mine usually done by the teachers but now I need to do my own, which is....... new)

2. There are 15 questions on the revision material. One of them says something about Napoleon Ice-Cream. That might sound a bit silly, but if you search the ice cream, it is just a Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate flavored ice-cream side by side. Most people just call this neapolitan, but there must be a history behind this...

It has something to do with the Italian flag... There are three colors, and there are three colors too in the ice cream... (I could eat one right now)

Here is everyone working on the assignment...

Here is what the progress...

Mr. Rick dismissed us late. Luckily the blog author knew the time or else Mr. Rick will keep us trapped in class! (Trapped in class does not feel right, and it does feel wrong because we need to go home)

3. Everyone should help do the blog. The blog is going to be due soon, so we need to communicate quick, or else some of the team members would lose grades!

Week 17 Day 1

Unfortunately, Mr. Rick did not come today and a substitute teacher came in to replace him. And the bad thing is, Mr. Rick's assignments requires Internet connection, and the school's Wi-Fi is experiencing problems, so no one can connect to the Internet. So, we ended up having free time for the whole lesson, and the blog author has no clue what the class learned today. (For me, the class at least passively learned what class was without Mr. Rick. Well basically not just Class when Mr.Rick goes to the toilet, its class when the teacher isn't there to teach us.)
